Are you an experienced public affairs professional who wants to make a difference?

Following a growth in clients, Inflect are looking for an experienced public affairs professional with several years of experience to join our fast-growing team in either London or Manchester.

Inflect is a strategic communications consultancy focused on public affairs, communications and campaigns in London and Manchester. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Account Director to join our growing team and work across a range of clients in fast-growing sectors.

What you will do

The successful candidate will need to be experienced, with a demonstrable track record of success, be a team player, have an exceptional eye for good quality work, have good written and verbal communication skills, and be adaptable to a range of different client  sectors.

Understanding UK politics is essential, with your own networks and insight, with experience or knowledge of the devolution landscape highly desirable.

We are looking for someone with agency experience, who can take responsibility for tasks and help us deliver high quality work for our clients.

Desirable skills include:

  • Highly skilled in client delivery
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • An understanding of what good quality client work looks like
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage clients across many sectors and drive client teams to deliver good work
  • A good understanding of software including Google Workspace, Slack and Canva
  • A demonstrable understanding of UK politics and, in particular, experience with clients in the skills, infrastructure and connectivity and net zero and energy sectors.

About you

As an Account Director, you will be an integral part of the team, sitting between the Senior Leadership and the Junior Team to lead account delivery and drive growth of the account and drive new business. 

You will:

  • Manage a number of campaigns and clients teams to deliver consistently excellent work
  • Be an experienced public affairs consultant who can offer strategic advice to clients and able to spot opportunities in political developments
  • Have strong networks in politics and public affairs, be across the latest political news and be out networking and building relationships
  • Be a key member of the senior team who manages, mentors and develops talent across the business
  • Create new business opportunities and support the team to win new business
  • Support our marketing efforts, develop content and represent the company in public settings
  • Be a brilliant writer, able to assimilate and explain complex topics in plain but compelling language and with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Be a creative thinker, with a passion for devolution and for delivering positive change
  • Mentor and coach junior colleagues, sharing your knowledge and expertise and helping them develop their skills and careers.
