Are you inherently political and a great communicator with at least 1 year’s experience working in a public affairs consultancy, an in-house comms role, in Parliament or for an MP? In that case, you might be the person we are looking for!

We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Executive to join the Inflect team, based in either our Manchester or London offices and with the opportunity to work on a wide range of clients across the country.

Inflect is a fast-growing public affairs and political communications agency with a specialist devolution team, DevoInflect, focused on the English devolution agenda. What you will do

The role of an Account Executive is varied. Generally, tasks include:

  • Providing high-quality written work, such as reports, letters, briefing notes, blogs, press releases, and reports for our clients and team
  • Research for client projects and new business
  • Engaging and maintaining good relationships with clients, including face-to-face and virtual meetings
  • Monitoring developments and trends across UK politics, flagging this to team members and clients as appropriate.
  • Organising client events and parliamentary receptions, including for a range of All-Party Parliamentary Group
  • Work with senior members of the team to help generate new business
  • Contributing to our set-piece conferences, including the Northern Transport Summit, the Northern Powerhouse Education, Employment and Skills Summit, the Best Practice Exchange and the Trade Association Forum Awards.

 

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will need to be a team player, have a good eye for detail, have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and be adaptable under pressure. 

A keen interest in UK politics is essential, with experience or knowledge of the devolution landscape highly desirable.

Desirable skills include:

  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritise a demanding workload under pressure and work to tight deadlines
  • A good understanding of software including Google Workspace, Slack and Canva
  • A demonstrable interest in politics
