Inflect worked with a cohort of academics from Queen Mary University of London to deliver policy impact training aimed at giving them the skills and frameworks to achieve greater policy impact with their work.
More than 30 academics from a variety of disciplines took part in the training which involved 6 modules delivered over consecutive weeks. The modules ranged from basic theory to practical tips and examples, and culminated in each of the participants developing a personal plan of what they were going to do to achieve greater impact.
After the 6 modules were complete, the Inflect team worked one-on-one with a handful of the academics to help them implement their plan, working with each academic over a number of weeks to develop their messaging, stakeholder maps and strategies to use going forward.
The course was extremely well-received and feedback was excellent. We continue to work with a number of the academics , including on a new programme of work funded by the BBSRC which has a specific allocation for policy impact.
