Unions 21 is a group of forward-looking trade unions representing a range of professional and skilled sectors. Inflect Partners has been working with them to help articulate some of the challenges that member unions are facing as a result of the Pandemic and its impact on the way we work.
The impact of the pandemic has posed significant challenges for trade unions as the world of work has changed dramatically across all workplaces.
With the pace of change in workplaces accelerating Unions 21 wanted to look at how they could better support members. Whilst, Unions 21 has always focused on supporting capacity building within member unions, responding to the pandemic required a new approach
Inflect has worked with them to understand where they add value to their partner unions and to public debate. We have developed collateral and stakeholder analysis and worked with them to put a plan in place that will help them to articulate the key challenges that need to be addressed by both unions and employers alike.
We have supported discussion and debate within the membership and developed some specific briefing material focused on the trade union members that are self employed and the key challenges emerging in the new world of work, specifically, the impact of home working, increased automation and the security of data.
We hope our work will help to promote measures that will ensure that the new world of work embraces opportunities to develop better staff engagement, greater equality of opportunity, increased flexibility and a better work/life balance
